napo2014button2

Day two of this year’s NaPoWriMo challenge; to post a poem a day for 30 days through April. I hope you like today’s submission from a windswept corner of Northern England, check me out daily on this site and NaPoWriMo’s under my participant name ‘My Daily Poem’.
Cheers – Nick

Weathered Hands

Weathered hands,
Clasped,
Cracked by time,
Water seeping,
Creeping,
Along finely formed
Fault lines

Damp,
Darkened wood,
Worked,
Roughly hewn,
Textured,
Turned,
Broken bark strewn

On nature’s bed
Green grass
Grown,
Brown leaves shed,
Soft seeds sewn

On moist moss floor,
Weathered hands,
Tethered,
Fixed firmly
To this northern moor
