Poem No. 39 Rural Gaffiti On A Yorkshire Tree

This poem was previously published on this blog as part of NaPoWriMo2013 back in April of this year, but as it goes pefectly with the current themed photo blog, here’s a second chance to enjoy it!

Rural Graffiti on a Yorkshire Tree

Love etched on a Yorkshire tree,
Rural graffiti,
Our hearts run free,
Words cut deep into the bark,
With a knife so sharp,
They will last forever,
Impervious to the weather

Faded love etched on a Yorkshire tree,
Rural Graffiti,
My blood runs free,
Words cut deep into the heart,
With a tongue so sharp,
They will last forever,
Exposed to the weather
