Poem No. 17 Sweet Suburbia (Part 1 – Her Story)

(National Poetry Writing Month – April 2013)

Sweet Suburbia
(Part 1 – Her Story)

Living life in a dream,
Silence preferred,
Suburban scream
Never to be heard,
Blackened eyes
Peer out,
Bleeding lips realise
A muted shout,
Cover the pain
In a cosmetic shroud,
And suffer again,
But not aloud
Praying for release
From this domestic bliss,
And landscaped peace,
Sealed with a hated kiss

This poem is the part 1 of a two-part poem for #NaPoWriMo 2013. For part 2 see Poem 18. Also check out Photo No. 17 which illustrates this poem.
